Libya Issues New Trademarks Law
20-Oct-2010 TRIPOLI – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to inform its clients that the new Trademarks Law has entered into force in Libya on October 21, 2010.
According to the new Law, published in the special edition of the Official Gazette No. 12 /Legislation Section, the previous Trademark Law No. 40 of the year 1956 will be canceled.
The new Law incorporates a number of articles that enhance trademarks protection in the country mainly those related to unfair competition, well-known trademarks, collective and quality marks.
