IBM Korea reported that it has filed a patent for "A system and method for purchasing and certificating an electronic ticket’. This patent is a technology to save an e-ticket purchased through the Internet in wireless terminal such as PDA and certify the e-ticket in theater, etc.
In the present, even though a ticket is purchased through the Internet, the user needs to receive paper ticket. However, once this technology is adopted, user transmits an e-ticket purchased through the Internet to user’s wireless terminal and certifies the e-ticket saved in the wireless terminal directly using scanning device of POS system in theater or other stores. Accordingly, the user needs not to receive paper ticket separately.
