Bahrain Grants Final Grace Period for Payment of Patents and Utility Models Annuity Fees

MANAMA – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to notify its clients that the Bahraini Industrial Property Office (IPO) has decided to grant a final grace period of 30 days regarding the due date of annuity fees of the patent registrations from the receiving date of this notification (i.e. until May 04, 2010), in order to pay the due annuity fees of the valid patent registrations which have exceeded one year from the date of previous notification of payment of annuity fees.
This annuity notification was issued by IPO Chief Lina Mahmoud Zinal on March 30, 2010.

Failure to abide with this notification, the IPO will be obliged to delete the unpaid patent registrations from the patent office records, in accordance with the Article No. (28) of Patents and Utility Models Law No. (1) of year 2004.
