The notable efforts of UAE against piracy and its implementation of the internationally - recognized intellectual property standards have led to its removal from the U.S. Special 301 Watchlist.
In his explanation of the reasons for such removal, the U.S Trademark Representative, Robert Zoellick, said that the UAE has become committed to provide full protection for U.S. pharmaceuticals.
On the other hand, while the UAE became off the watchlist, Qatar that was removed from the list last year is now back to join the other two Arab Countries Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
