Syrian President, Bashar Al- Assad issued Decree No. 16, May 31, 2004, stipulating that the Syrian Arab Republic will join the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The Convention was signed in Stockholm July 14, 1967 and amended September 28, 1979.
