The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT) entered into force with respect to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan May 24, 2004.
The WPPT clarifies many of the rights in copyright relating to phonograms (i.e., records, cassette tapes, compact discs), artistic and literary works, which were explicitly not included in these clarifications.
It is worth noting that Jordan has deposited, February 24, 2004, its instrument of accession to the WPPT adopted in Geneva December 20, 1996.
On the other hand, the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT), entered into force, with respect to Jordan April 27, 2004. Jordan deposited its instrument of accession to the WCT January 27, 2004.
