BOSTON, MA - The .pro domain name has been re-launched by RegistryPro. With this new launch, all licensed professionals worldwide are eligible to register dot-pro domain names, such as boss.pro, according to openPR.com.
The .pro domain is a restricted domain name, available to professionals who self-certify that they meet the eligibility requirements of their profession. There are no restrictions on the types of names a business or professional may register: including trademarks, industry keywords, search engine terms, company names, or marketing slogans. There is no limit to how many dot-pro domain names an individual or company can register.
There will be no verification of credentials conducted before the dot-pro names can be used. Instead, the dot-pro registry will perform periodic audits of the registered names to check compliance.
Dot-pro domain’s registrar is EnCirca which is accredited by the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Formed in 2001, EnCirca is operated by a Hostway subsidiary called RegistryPro, a domain name registry exclusively for professionals who wish to brand and promote themselves on the Internet.
