ANKARA - Nic.tr, the .tr Domain Names Administration in Turkey, announced on July 21, 2008, changes to the eligibility requirements for .tr domain names.
As per the new changes, registration is restricted to brands with a Local Turkey Commercial Presence. A Local Commercial Presence is shown when one of the following options is met:
• Providing a Local Turkey Registrant for the domain name.
• The registrant has a trademark from any country. The registered trademark must exactly match the brand for the requested domain name.
