GENEVA - The Government of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe deposited, on April 3, 2008, its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) of 2001.
According to PCT Notification No. 188 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the said treaty will enter into force, with respect to Sao Tome and Principe, on July 3, 2008.
From this date on, Sao Tome and Principe will be automatically designated in every PCT applications, as well as in any demand for international preliminary examination filed on or after said date, being bound by Chapter II of the PCT.
