DUBAI - The Trademark Office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a communiqué announcing that all trademark registration agents, who filed trademark applications with an undertaking to submit the pertinent Power of Attorney at a later stage, are given 60 days from the date of filing to submit the said Power.
The communiqué, which was issued by the Office on June 11, 2008, also stated that technical exanimation procedures for such applications will be ceased, unless the said Power of Attorney is submitted in the due period.
An extension of 30 days might be granted, only if an official letter is submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce requesting the same.
