Jordan’s Patent Office Activates Patent Practices
08-Jun-2008
AMMAN - With the aim of streamlining patent registration process, the Jordanian Patent Office has recently activated existing patent practices related to the documents needed for filing patent applications in Jordan.
Effective immediately, the Patent Office will no longer accept any document, whether it is a Power of Attorney, an Affidavit, or an Assignment without the signatures of the applicant and the inventor. Accordingly, any document that is not duly signed by the aforementioned parties will be rejected.
The other activated practice relates to the priority document which is to be submitted, if priority is claimed. Such document should be translated into Arabic, in case it is originally in English. In case the priority document is in a language other than English, it should be translated into both English and Arabic.
