Kosovo Requires Intent to Use
09-Apr-2008
PRISTINA - Kosovo trademark application forms now require that applicants declare that the trademark is being used in relation to the goods and services specified in the application, or that the applicant has a bona fide intent to use the trademark.
The Intellectual Property (IP) Office in Kosovo recently announced this change, a press release by SD PETOSEVIC stated.
The new requirement has been included in the application form pursuant to Article 33.2 of Kosovo’s Trademark Law.
The deadline for the revalidation of Serbian Intellectual Property Rights is September 1, 2008.
The IP officials in Kosovo have discussed the possibility of extending the deadline to October 1, 2008, or November 19, 2008. However, no official notification has been issued to date.
