The Jordanian Cabinet in its session held March 23, 2004 approved on commencing with the necessary procedures to join the 1984 Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the 1989 Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks.
This move demonstrates Jordan’s compliance of its obligations under the international trade agreements signed with the US, the European Union and members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Joining the two agreements enables Jordan to register international trademarks and patents through the national offices of the state members and through the WIPO International Office.
