Tunisian Prime Minister, Abu-Ghazaleh Hold Talks

TUNIS - Tunisian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghanoushi received on November 21, 2007, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Vice-Chair of the Global Alliance for ICT and Development, and Chairman of the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP), at the governmental palace in Kasbah.
According to Essahafa newspaper, Abu-Ghazaleh is visiting Tunisia to take part in the Information and Communication Technologies Forum “Tunis Plus 2.”
Following their discussion, Abu-Ghazaleh praised the successes achieved by Tunisia in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which have become a model of success in the field of services.
He added that the meeting was an occasion in which the need to create a permanent international forum for ICT was stressed, so that this could be an independent permanent body where specialized companies, and the information/communication society in the world can meet to exchange information and coordinate work among themselves.
He elaborated that such a step demands the establishment of a dedicated body and the creation of a permanent exhibit for the latest technologies innovated in information and communications, in addition to the creation of a specialized research center in this discipline.
He pointed out that the meeting was also an opportunity to emphasize the necessity of growing the services trade between Arab countries. He called for the creation of a trade services alliance center in the Arab region to be a location that assimilates specialized institutions, enables them to develop their business methods and represents them in international organizations.
