Turkey Accedes to the UPOV Convention

GENEVA - The Government of the Republic of Turkey deposited its instrument of accession to the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) on October 18, 2007, according to notification No. 104 by the UPOV.
The UPOV Convention will enter into force, with respect to Turkey, on November 18, 2007.
The purpose of the UPOV Convention is to encourage the development of new varieties of plants by granting breeders an Intellectual Property Right on the basis of a set of clearly defined principles.
