On May 5, 2004, the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic deposited, with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), its instrument of accession to both the Madrid Agreement and the Madrid Protocol Concerning the International Registration of Marks. The Madrid Agreement and the Madrid Protocol will enter into force with respect to Syria August 5, 2004.
Accession to the Madrid Agreement and the Madrid Protocol by Syria brings the number of Contracting Parties of the Madrid System to 76.
