Oman Accedes to Budapest Treaty, Madrid Protocol, PLT and TLT

MUSCAT - The Government of the Sultanate of Oman deposited, on July 16, 2007, its instrument of accession to the following Intellectual Property-related treaties and protocol:
- Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure of 1977;
- Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks of 1989;
- The Patent Law Treaty of 2000;
- The Trademark Law Treaty of 1994.
According to a press release by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Budapest Treaty, Madrid Protocol, PLT and TLT will enter into force, with respect to the Sultanate of Oman, on October 16, 2007.
