TRIPOLI - Two years after joining the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), the Libyan Patent Office decided on June 21, 2007, to accept PCT applications entering the national phase in Libya.
A copy of the PCT publication, as well as a copy of the PCT international application along with the international search report is required for filing PCT applications.
Meanwhile, claiming priority based on the PCT is possible upon submitting the following documents:
1. A Power of Attorney signed, stamped by the applicant company and legalized up to the Libyan Consulate in the applicant home country.
2. The name, nationality, address and profession or nature of business of the applicant and the inventor(s).
3. Two copies of the specification and a summary of the invention in Arabic.
