Accession by the UAE to the Berne Convention

The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) deposited, April 14, 2004, its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (Berne Convention) of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971, and amended on September 28, 1979.

The Berne Convention will enter into force, with respect to the UAE, July 14, 2004. On that date, the UAE will also become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works ("Berne Union"), founded by the Berne Convention.
