NEW DELHI - Indian Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Kamal Nath and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akira Amari signed on May 24, 2007, in Tokyo a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).
According to a press release by the Indian Press Information Bureau, capacity building, human resource development and public awareness programs are the main areas of cooperation covered in the MoU.
India and Japan will draw up annual action plans to implement the MoU which is expected to foster cooperation between the two countries in the IP field.
