AGIP Participates in INTA 129th Annual Meeting in Chicago

AMMAN - Attracting more than 8,500 professionals and experts in the field of Intellectual Property from more than 140 countries around the world, the International Trademark Association (INTA) held its 129th Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, USA, April 28 - May 2, 2007.

The five-day meeting featured a dynamic mix of educational programs and policy discussions on several trademark-related topics including, community trademark opposition practice, international trademark litigation, Internet trademark piracy and trademark infringement, comparative advertising and others.

The keynote speech in this year’s meeting was delivered by McDonald's Corporation Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Jim Skinner, where he discussed the importance and protection of brands.

Always exerting its effort to have an unmatched presence at the INTA annual meetings, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Executive Director, Charles Sha'ban highlighted the importance of participation in this event.

“AGIP is keen on attending every year, in order to take advantage of the educational programs, committee meetings, exhibits, social events and networking opportunities,” he said.

“AGIP conducted more than 120 meetings with clients from different countries, where we exchanged expertise and discussed further potential cooperation prospects with them,” he added.

INTA’s 130th Annual Meeting will be held in Berlin, Germany, May 17-21, 2008.
