GENEVA - The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Dr. Kamil Idris and the Moroccan Minister of Information Mr. Mohammed Nabil Ben Abdallah agreed in a meeting on June 27, 2006 in Geneva to further strengthen cooperation between the Organization and the Moroccan Government to enhance the Intellectual Property (IP) infrastructure in Morocco for the benefit of economic, social and cultural development.
According to a press release by WIPO, the talks covered a number of initiatives in which WIPO has provided technical assistance to Morocco in the field of IP, both relating to industrial property and copyright. Dr. Idris and Mr. Ben Abdallah agreed to broaden the scope of cooperation in promoting IP awareness and strengthening IP capabilities in Morocco.
"WIPO would continue to support Morocco in developing a balanced Intellectual Property system for the benefit of its inventors and creators and to boost the economy," said Dr. Idris
