Libya Relaunches Electronic Trademark Gazette

18-May-2026

TRIPOLI - The Ministry of Economy and Trade has announced the relaunch of the electronic trademark registration gazette with the publication of the first issue for the year 2026. This comes after an 18-month suspension of the publication, restoring an important tool for transparency and intellectual property regulations. The issue includes trademark registration applications numbered 55261 to 57597, all of which have been submitted through the Commercial Registry Authority’s electronic registration system.

This relaunch is in line with the Prime Minister's directives to improve intellectual property protection and modernize the business environment by implementing transparent and efficient procedures. By resuming regular publication and registration, the ministry aims to provide businesses with clearer rights, minimize disputes, and increase investment confidence in Libya's commercial sectors. However, it should be noted that the stated website is currently inactive and publication has not yet resumed.

The first issue of the gazette covers a total of 2,337 trademark applications (numbered 55261-57597) that were filed through the Commercial Registry Authority's official website. The fully electronic filing and publication process is designed to speed up registration timelines, reduce paperwork, and grant public access to the latest information on pending trademark claims.
