Qatar Launches Five New Digital Intellectual Property Services
05-May-2026 DOHA - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar has announced the launch of five new electronic services for intellectual property on its official website, expanding the total number of online IP services to seven. This move is part of the ministry’s ongoing effort to streamline procedures, raise service quality, and accelerate digital transformation across IP administration.
The newly introduced services allow users to apply for a certificate of deposit and protection for copyright and related rights, request a “to whom it may concern” certificate, obtain an extract of a copyright and related rights certificate, modify an existing copyright application, and request the transfer of ownership for a copyright deposit certificate. These additions simplify access to key copyright procedures for creators and rights holders, reducing the need for in-person visits.
Expanding Qatar’s digital IP services removes barriers for creators and rights holders and strengthens the protection of creative works nationwide. These new services make it easier for individuals to apply for certificates and request modifications, ensuring that their intellectual property is properly protected.
Furthermore, the launch of these services on the official website of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar demonstrates the government's commitment to embracing digital transformation and making processes more efficient for its citizens. It also showcases their dedication to protecting the rights of creators and promoting a thriving creative industry in the country.
