Bahrain Grants Temporary Three-Month Extension for Submission of Legalized Industrial Property Documents
19-Mar-2026 MANAMA - The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced a temporary three-month extension for applicants seeking industrial property rights. This includes trademarks, patents, utility models, and industrial designs. The extension is granted in response to current exceptional circumstances that may affect applicants' ability to complete notarization and legalization processes on time.
Under this decision, applicants can request an extension of the standard 90-day deadline at no additional cost. They must make a formal request to the Ministry. The extended period allows applicants up to 90 days from the first deadline to finalize notarization and legalization formalities. Failure to complete these procedures within the extended timeframe will result in the application being deemed abandoned.
