Oman: New Practice for Renewing Trademarks in Class 9
19-Feb-2026 MUSCAT - The Omani Trademark Office has recently announced an update on their procedure for renewing trademarks filed in Class 9, which are due for renewal in 2026.
According to the updated NICE Classification (13th Edition), certain items, specifically glasses and sunglasses, are no longer covered under Class 9. Therefore, there will be an amendment to the specification of goods in Class 9, and to have it removed, an amendment application must be filed. It is important to note that Oman still follows the 11th edition of the Nice classification.
