23-Dec-2025

MANAMA – Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property office (AGIP) Bahrain Office recently took part in two educational lectures organized by the Youth of the World Foundation, which aimed to provide guidance to young creators and innovators on the importance of intellectual property rights. The lectures, which were attended by students, entrepreneurs, and tech enthusiasts, were aimed at helping participants understand how IP rights can support creativity and innovation, as well as providing practical steps for protecting computer programs and mobile applications under current IP laws.

As a speaker at the lectures, Mr. Hamzeh Mobideen, Marketing Manager at AGIP Bahrain office, discussed core IP concepts such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and how they can be applied to emerging digital projects. He used real-life examples to demonstrate the importance of early protection in preserving commercial value and attracting investment. He also explained the differences between source code and user interfaces, the scope of copyright protection for software, and when patents might be necessary for unique technical solutions.

The lectures also addressed common challenges faced by youth-led projects, including collaborative development, third-party components, and monetization strategies. AGIP encouraged attendees to consider IP strategy as an essential part of their project planning.
