Sudan Temporarily Suspends Trademark Office Operations in Port Sudan
18-Dec-2025 KHARTOUM - Sudan's Commercial Registrar has announced the immediate suspension of all administrative work in Port Sudan, including the Trademark Office (TMO), effective December 14, 2025.
This decision comes as part of a government-led effort to move state institutions back to the capital, Khartoum. The Registrar's notice states that during the suspension period, no activities will be carried out in Port Sudan. Meanwhile, TMO services will be relocated to Khartoum. The announcement did not provide an exact resumption date in Khartoum, but authorities have indicated that the transition timeline is provisional. It depends on the local logistical and transportation situation, which may affect the return-to-service date.
