Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property Unveils 2024 Intellectual Property Report Highlighting Significant Growth

RIYADH – The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) announced the release of its 2024 Intellectual Property Report, showcasing significant advancements and record-breaking figures in the Kingdom’s intellectual property sector. The comprehensive report offers key statistical data and analysis on various intellectual property fields and emerging trends, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to innovation and intellectual property protection.

According to the report, patent applications surged to 8,029 in 2024, reflecting a notable 13.33% increase compared to the previous year. This growth signals a strong momentum in innovation activities across the country. In addition, SAIP issued 4,355 patent documents, 1,578 design certificates, and 1,504 voluntary copyright registration certificates. The report also highlights the registration of 31,834 trademarks, indicating robust protection and commercialization of brands within the Saudi market.

The report reflects SAIP’s ongoing strategy to promote the development and protection of intellectual property as a key driver of economic growth and diversification. The authority remains focused on delivering efficient services and encouraging innovation across all sectors, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
