Pre-filing Search Became Compulsory in Iraq

BAGHDAD – The trademarks Office announced that pre-filing search became compulsory in Iraq, in order to confirm the acceptance of the trademark before proceeding with filing.
On the other hand, there were verbal instructions recently received from the Trademark Office in relation to class 5 (A) which states that the home registration certificate of the trademark for the same class will be sufficient to file trademark in class 5 (A).
