Saudi Arabia: New Policy for Rejected Trademark Applications
22-Apr-2024 RIYADH – The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) has recently implemented a new procedure for handling rejected trademark applications. Previously, upon the rejection of trademark applications, the applicant had two options: amending the mark within a 10-day grace period, or filing a complaint against the rejection decision within 60 days.
However, with the new policy, applicants now only have the option to file a complaint against the rejection decision.
It is noteworthy that SAIP has implemented this change to streamline its intellectual property management process. This move aims to reduce administrative backlogs, and enhance processes for trademark registrations.
