UAE: New Procedures for Trademark Renewal

DUBAI – The Trademark Office in the United Arab Emirates has recently adopted the new practice of allowing trademark applications to be renewed without a legalized Power of Attorney.
This new practice is aimed at easing the formal requirements for trademark renewal in the UAE. Previously, a trademark renewal application could not be filed unless it was supported with a duly legalized POA, which could take more time to process than the production of a non-legalized POA.
