Filing Requirements

1. Full name and address of the applicant (in the case of a corporate applicant, place of incorporation and/or state of incorporation, if applicable).
2. Name of article(s) to which the design is intended to be applied in both English and Chinese.
3. A statement to indicate if the claim of novelty is in the three dimensional features of the design (shape and configuration) or the surface features (the pattern and ornament) of the design, or both.
4. If design(s) previously disclosed, circumstances of disclosure including relevant dates. If disclosure at official international exhibition, name and place of exhibition, opening date of exhibition as well as date of first disclosure (if not on opening date of exhibition).
5. If the applicant is not the designer, applicant's rights in relation to design(s).
6. If priority claimed, a photocopy of certificate issued by competent authority of relevant Paris Convention country or WTO member (together with certified English or Chinese translation) verifying date and country; territory or area of filing; representation of design and articles covered by previous application; and its filing or registration number. If the priority document is not in English, please provide an English translation stating the name of the translator and his official capacity (if any).
7. Two identical representations (for example, drawings or photographs) for each design, of a size not more than:¬
   

   (a) 210mm X 297mm, in case of drawing; or
   (b) 160mm X 160mm, in case of photograph; and
   (c) One side of the representation shall not be less than 30mm in length.

8. More than one design can be included in the same application, provided the designs relate to the same class of articles under the Locarno Classification, or to the same set of articles. Reduced fees will apply to multiple applications.
