Summary
In respect of the OAPI countries, the Bangui Accord Annex VII provides for the protection of literary and artistic work, including copyright.
Computer programs are specifically included in the definition of "work". The rights are acquired through the creation of the work and are not registerable. In the case where the work is created in the course of employment, the rights are deemed to have been transferred to the employer. The economic rights are valid for a period of 70 years after the death of the author.
