New Value Added Tax Adopted in Egypt

CAIRO – The Egyptian Ministry of Finance announced that the value added tax (VAT) law was officially implemented in the country starting September 9, 2016.
In virtue of this new law, the VAT rate will be 10% in 2016-17 fiscal year for professional and consulting services.
Accordingly, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) will add the new VAT amount on all Intellectual Property services offered in Egypt.
