AGIP Selected Exclusive Verification Agent for .EMARAT IDN Domain

DUBAI - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) announces that it has signed an agreement with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the Unites Arab Emirates, according to which, AGIP shall be the exclusive Verification Agent for applicants during the Sunrise and Landrush Periods for launching the new .EMARAT Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) domain.

The application process will last for two months starting from October 17 until December 15, 2010.

Commenting on this partnership, Ms. Norma Saqer, Domain Name Specialist at AGIP, said, “AGIP looks forward to closely working with the TRA to allow for an expedient, accurate and robust verification process for all .emarat Sunrise applications.”

A Verification Agent is generally tasked to make a decision on whether an application for a domain has met the requirements based on the .emarat Sunrise policies.

The .EMARAT Sunrise policies are intended to provide an equitable, orderly, transparent and logical process for the launching of the .EMARAT domain, which take into consideration the prior rights of stakeholders in the community.
