The Industrial Property Office at the Ministry of Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced on December 25, 2004, that Bahrain adopted the Eighth Edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks under the Nice Agreement, which was concluded on June 15, 1957.
The Office is ready to receive trademark applications for services in the following classes:
Class 43: services for providing food and drink; temporary accommodation.
Class 44: medical services; veterinary services; hygienic and beauty care for human beings or animals; agriculture, horticulture, and forestry services.
Class 45: personal and social services rendered by others to meet the needs of individuals; security services for the protection of property and individuals.
Marks in these classes will not be published in the Official Gazette until the issuance of the new trademark law and its implementing regulations, which are still under study.
