Jordan Issues New Resolution on Patent Renewal Fees

AMMAN - As per the new decision issued by the Directorate of Industrial Property Protection in Jordan, it is now permitted to pay annuity fees for several years in advance for granted patents in Jordan. Accordingly, all annuities of the patent life span can be paid at once in advance.
It is worth mentioning that patent annuities are due only upon the grant of the patent application in Jordan, with retroactive effect, as from the date of filing. This should be applied to all granted patents as well, either at the time of the grant or at any time during the annuity due date.
