AGIP Participates in Internet Governance Forum 2018

PARIS – Represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Charles Shaban, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) participated in the thirteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), hosted by the Government of France at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, France, from 12 to 14 November 2018.

Mr. Shaban was one of the main event speakers, where he delivered speeches in the main session of “Digital Inclusion and Accessibility” and “Digital Development & Data Protection in the Global South: MENA Region as an Example” workshop. Moreover, he was interviewed in the Lightning Session arranged by INTA about the importance of trademarks and domain names for small business, as an expert in this field.

Mr. Shaban represented the Arab IGF in the National IGFs workshop as the Chair of the Arab IGF Multistakeholder Program Advisory Committee, where he shared information regarding developed solutions on key Internet issues. 

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Shaban has extensive experience in the field of Internet Governance and related public policy, good knowledge of the outputs of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Geneva 2003 and Tunis 2005, was a member of the Workgroup on Internet Governance (WGIG) and has good knowledge of the global IGF process mechanisms.
