Libya: Change in Required Documents for Filing TM Applications

TRIPOLI - The Libyan Trademark Office has announced that starting January 1, 2010 a certified copy of home (country of origin) registration certificate of the trademark, duly legalized by the Libyan Consulate in the applicant country is required upon filing the application in Libya.
The required documents for filing in Libya are:
-Power of Attorney of the applicant duly legalized by the Libyan consulate in the applicant home country.
-Commercial Extract of the Applicant Company or Certificate of Incorporation duly legalized by the Libyan Consulate in the applicant home country.
-Certified copy of home (country of origin) registration certificate of the trademark, duly legalized by the Libyan Consulate in the applicant country is required upon filing the application in Libya
-15 prints of the trademark.
-Certified copy of the priority document if the priority is to be claimed."
