Investigation of IPR Crimes Course Concludes in Jordan

AMMAN – “Investigations of Intellectual Property Rights’ Crimes” course concluded on July 30, 2009 at the Public Security Directorate (PSD) premises in the presence of the PSD Director- General Assistant for Criminal Investigation Ayed Shihan and the Lebanese Consul in Amman Haitham Ibrahim, according to ag-IP-news Agency.

The course, which witnessed the participation of Lebanese security officers, shed light on the concept of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its various types; in addition to national and international IPR conventions and laws.

“Protecting Intellectual Property has been attracting more attention in all countries since it is safeguarding innovation and creativity,” General Shihan said.

“Such a course plays a significant role in qualifying human resources working in the field to deal with such cases which are part of the daily work of the Public Security system,” he added.

Lecturers at the course were specialized experts from the Customs Department, National Library, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Arab Union of Intellectual Property Rights and from the private sector.
