The Second Arab Customs Forum Starts in Jordan Today

AQABA - The Second Arab Customs Forum, organized by the Arab Federation for Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (AFPIPR), the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the Arab and Jordan customs departments, kicks off today at the Movenpick Hotel, Aqaba, according to ag-IP-news Agency.

Participating in the two-day Forum, entitled “Unified Customs Measures to Combat Counterfeiting and Piracy”, are customs representatives from the various Arab countries such as Palestine, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Tunis and Jordan.

Speakers from the Arab Intellectual Property (IP) divisions affiliate to the customs departments will discuss national cases studies related to their experience in combating piracy and counterfeiting.

The Arab Federation for Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, established in 2005, aims at disseminating IP knowledge in the Arab region as a whole and protecting the Intellectual Property Rights of all the companies and corporations in the Arab countries in particular through prohibiting the trade of counterfeited goods.
