19-Apr-2009

AMMAN - Jordan Technical Consultancy Center (TCS) and the Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers Association organized the Fourth International Conference on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in Agriculture: Challenges & Opportunities, April 19-20, 2009 at Holiday Inn- Amman hotel.
The event, held under the patronage of Jordan Minister of Agriculture Engineer Saeed Al Masri, came on the heels of the success of the International Conference on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in agriculture, which the Center and Association held in 2005, 2007, and 2008.
The venue promoted awareness on the importance of this issue for the good of the agricultural sector in Jordan which rose significantly.

IP rights in this specific sector are among the major challenges that hinder its development, and as Jordan is one of the leading countries in the agricultural industries, such as pesticides and fertilizers and veterinary medications.
The organizers decided to hold the fourth edition of the event in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. This year’s event was set to discuss more specialized IP issues and tackled the latest in this regard.
