Payment Procedure in Kosovo Clarified

13 Dec 2008

PRISTINA - Kosovo Intellectual Property Office (IPO) clarified the procedure concerning the payment of annuities and other maintenance fees, according to SD PETOSEVIC.

The payment of maintenance fees in Kosovo will not be accepted by the Kosovo IPO until the Official Filing Certificate of Kosovo IP rights is issued and the applicant is invited to pay the required maintenance fees.

Clients should anticipate that the issuance of their Filing Certificates will take an unusually long time. At this time, however, it is not possible to estimate the time-frame.

The delay is due to the large number of applications and revalidation requests received by the Kosovo IPO during the past two months, and the fact that the Kosovo IPO is understaffed.
