China Accedes to WCT & WPPT

GENEVA - The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) announced that the government of the People’s Republic of China deposited on, March 9, 2007, its instrument of accession to the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT).
As stated in the instrument, both treaties shall not apply to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region of China.
The treaties will enter into force, with respect to China, on June 9, 2007.
