AGIP Launches Search for Published Trademarks in Yemen

09-Nov-2006

AMMAN - Through its Intellectual Property Published Registrations (IPPR) Department (Data Center), Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) started offering "Search for Published Trademarks" in Yemen beginning this November.

"Within less than 24 hours, AGIP conducts a comprehensive search for trademarks published in the Official Gazette in Yemen and provides clients with a full detailed search report indicating any similar or matching mark," Mohannad Ismail, manager of the IPPR Department.
"It is crucial for clients to check the availability of the trademark against potentially conflicting earlier trademark rights owned by third parties, before filing an application in Yemen," he added.

"After being successfully launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last August, AGIP is also looking forward to providing this exclusive service to its clients in Oman, Gaza and Ramallah before the end of 2006, in addition to other Arab countries over the next year," he pointed out.

AGIP's charges for Search for Published Trademarks in Yemen in one class are $ 40 and in any additional class $ 30
Intellectual Property Published Registrations (IPPR) is a unique and comprehensive database compiled exclusively by AGIP for its clients. The database includes more than one million trademarks published in the Arab world with detailed records of renewals, assignments and all other actions as of the filing date of each trademark. The database also includes applications and patents published in certain countries of the Arab world with their patent families and legal status.
