KSA Transfers Trademark Enforcement Jurisdiction to Intellectual Property Authority

RIYADH - The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property announced that the jurisdiction to enforce trademarks has been transferred from the Ministry of Commerce to the Authority based on Cabinet Resolution No. (496) approving the organization of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, to become the competent authority concerned. In the fields of intellectual property in the Kingdom, its protection, care and enforcement; And to start the enforcement of trademarks in the Kingdom in accordance with the relevant regulations, according to an official announcement by the SAIP.

The authority is working to complete the process of trademark enforcement in terms of what the Ministry of Commerce has accomplished and its efforts in the last stage and to upgrade them in the Kingdom by improving the systems and procedures for the enforcement of intellectual property rights and its integration.
