The term is 20 years from the date of filing of the application.


Secret filing is unmentioned in the law.


Yes although the system here is a filing system that does not consist of a search system.


In English or Arabic and the abstract must be translated into Arabic.


Four conditions are as follows:
- That the patented invention capable of being worked within the Democratic Republic of Sudan has not been so worked.

- That the working of the patented invention within Sudan does not meet reasonable terms the demand of the product.

- The working of the patented invention within Sudan is been prevented or hindered by the importation of the patented article.

- That by reason of the refusal of the registered owner of the patent to grant licenses on reasonable terms, the establishment or development of industrial or commercial activities in Sudan is unfairly substantially prejudiced.


Only local applications as the PCT applications are not published.
